Glutton has a model at its new site in Andenne: a modular audiovisual room with the best equipment. Take a guided tour with CEO Christian Lange…

Glutton’s superb new facilities can be seen from the Walloon motorway, particularly at night. A few months ago, the company inaugurated this ultra-modern and environmentally responsible 7,000 m² site in the new Mecalys business park in Andenne.

This fast-growing company, which specialises in electrical road equipment, needed space for production and research and development, as well as offices. ‘We also needed a room with seating capacity for 200 people‘ explains CEO Christian Lange. ‘Every month, I bring together all the staff from Belgium and abroad; this is the backbone of my management style. So I needed to have the ideal infrastructure.‘

 Five rooms in one

This room, which is almost entirely glass, is located at the entrance to the building, overlooking the garden. The architects had already thought of it when they were drawing up the plans. ‘The very first idea evolved, though,‘ recalls Glutton’s founder. ‘We equipped it with removable partitions and truly state-of-the-art technology.’

The result is one of the most beautiful facilities in the region, which can be divided into (up to five!) meeting rooms. Each of these is named after a city representing the five continents – like all the rooms in this immense complex – in reference to the cities that use Glutton’s technology.

Each room is equipped with all the necessary equipment, in a well-designed layout that offers a clever combination to maximise its technical potential: digital sound, high-definition projection, an interactive LED screen, individual and stand-up HF microphones, etc.  ‘Everything is controlled from touch screens, which are programmed for us or directly via our smartphones,‘ explains Christine Gaertner, Glutton’s Marketing Manager. ‘The settings can also be pre-recorded. Even people who do not regularly use these rooms find them very easy to use. In general, many people are stressed by technology, but not with us.

There is also unanimous agreement on the quality of vision, despite the bay windows, and the impeccable acoustics (walls + floor), which allow meetings to be held simultaneously without issue.

Successful collaborations

Why did they trust Etilux? ‘In the multimedia field,’ answers Christian Lange, ‘Etilux is known for offering beautiful audiovisual solutions. It was therefore quite natural for us to turn to their professional experience and established references, even though we did consult other companies.

The collaboration between Glutton and Etilux expanded to include architects and other trades (heating engineers, electricians, etc.). ‘Indeed, it was essential to consult the various stakeholders during the construction of our buildings. Everything was well thought out and there are no visible wires, for example.’

It is true that the CEO pays attention to every detail, as seen by the quality of all the company’s facilities, which are very innovative and give pride of place to wood and the work of local craftsmen. For example, Christian Lange called on the skills of an interior designer, who is also a colourist. ‘She chose all the materials to create a cosy atmosphere within the company. In our large room, she opted for grey pilasters and blue walls.‘ On the floor, a beige carpet (which is anti-bacterial and has acoustic qualities) embellishes the rooms. The adjacent canteen and the Zen room are also models in their own right. ‘In projects like this, you have to go all in,’ says Christian Lange.

And the follow-up? Etilux provides telephone and in-person support. ‘Everything has to be functional 24/7. We are delighted with how quickly they respond.‘

Technical framework:

The Glutton installations are used in a large room format with double projection or in 5 separate spaces. “It was therefore necessary to deploy a system that would allow all the equipment to be divided or brought together with ease of handling for the users,” says Olivier Marcour, in charge of the project at Etilux. “From a technical point of view, we opted for a video and audio matrix from EXTRON, offering great flexibility of use and good possibilities for development.
